Dr. C.V. Raman Science College stands as an excellent example of progressive ideas, driving force, individual initiative, private philanthropy and public support.

The college, which runs under the Van Vaibhav Shikshan Mandal, Aheri, was established in the year 2006 in Sironcha, one of the most backward regions of District Gadchiroli. The Founder-Chairman of the college, Shri Abdul Hakim Abdul Rahim, a well known philanthropist of this territory, is a man of vision and mission. It is by his untiring effort that the college has blossomed into a centre of higher education in a rural area.

The mission of the college is to impart a liberal, modern, sound and quality education, both in Humanities and Science, to students from rural backgrounds and the poorest strata of society at an affordable cost. The college is affiliated to Gondwana University, Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. The campus, with magnificent buildings, beautiful landscapes and lush green lawns, provides a serene atmosphere conducive to studies.
